Color Shades, Tints and Tones
Shades are created by mixing a color with black, producing darker variants. Tints are made by adding white, creating lighter versions. Tones result from adding gray, reducing intensity and saturation.
Color Harmonies
Color harmonies are combinations chosen based on their relationships on the color wheel. Complementary colors sit opposite each other, creating high contrast. Analogous colors are adjacent, creating smooth transitions. Triadic colors are evenly spaced, offering balanced vibrancy.
Color Spaces
RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is the standard for screens. HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) is more intuitive for picking colors. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) is used for print. Each has its strengths depending on your medium.
